The Martin-Baker Mk.7 was and still is a British ejection seat which was introduced in the mid-1960s. The official website of the manufacturer states that currently (2019) there are still more than 1,500 seats of this type in service. In the case of devices mounted on the F-4 Phantom II aircraft, for the seat to work effectively, the weight of the pilot must be from 71 to 121 kilograms, while in versions mounted on other aircraft, these indicators are slightly different. The Martin-Baker Mk.7 seat was developed as a far-reaching modification of the Mk.5 seat, and the main change was that using the new seat, the pilot was able to leave the plane at zero machine speed and at zero altitude (zero-zero capability). ). Therefore, it followed a similar development path as the seats of the same manufacturer Mk.4 and Mk.6. The Martin-Baker Mk.7 armchair was mounted on machines such as: Grumman A-6 Intruder, Grumman F-9 Cougar, Grumman F-14 Tomcat and especially the F-104 Starfighter and F-4 Phantom II.
