The Ferrari 312 is an Italian Formula 1 car that was presented in the 1966 season and competed in F1 races in the period 1966-1969. Its designer was Mauro Forghieri. The Ferrari 312 was powered by a single 3-liter V-12 engine.
The Ferrari 312 was developed to replace the Ferrari 246 F1-66 car. The first units, which appeared in 1966, had many common elements with their predecessor, and differed mainly in the use of a completely new engine. From 1967, however, a new body began to be used and many new or significantly changed components were introduced. Aluminum has also been used extensively to reduce the weight of the vehicle. In 1970, the 312B model was introduced, which was powered by a completely new Ferrari 001 engine. The Ferrari 312 took part in 38 Grand Prix races - it was victorious in 3 of them. The most famous drivers who drove the Ferrari 312 and Ferrari 312B cars were: Lorenzo Bandini, Jacky Ickx and Niki Lauda.
