The Junkers Jumo 211 was a German interwar and WWII aero engine manufactured by Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorwerke AG. It was first tested in 1936. The engine - in the Jumo 211 C version - weighed 585 kilograms with a displacement of 35 liters. It is estimated that a total of about 68,200 copies of this aircraft engine were produced. It was one of the most important German aircraft engines of the Second World War.

The Junkers Jumo 211 was a V12 12 cylinder, liquid-cooled, inverted V12 engine. The engine was developed by a team of engineers led by Hugo Junkers. Two important innovations were used in this power unit: the inverted V12 system, and above all - direct fuel injection into the cylinders, which significantly improved the engine performance. It also had a compressor, thanks to which the airplanes powered by it kept the maximum power limit at high altitudes. From the moment of entering serial production, the Junkers Jumo 211 engine was constantly improved and in subsequent versions it achieved higher and higher maximum powers, for example: Jumo 211 A had a power of 1085 HP, the Jumo 211 C model - already 1184 HP, and in the Jumo 211 P version it was already reaching 1,479 hp. The Junkers Jumo 211 engine was used as a power unit for several successful German aircraft of the Second World War. It drove machines such as: Focke-Wulf Ta-154 Moskito, Heinkel He-111 E, H and Z, Junkers Ju 88 and especially Junkers Ju 87.
