The Jordan 191 (initial designation: Jordan 911) is a Formula 1 car that was introduced in the 1991 season and competed in F1 races only this season. Its designers were Gary Anderson and Andrew Greek. The Jordan 191 was powered by a single 3.5-liter Ford HBA4 8-cylinder 670hp engine. Jordan 191 was developed for the Jordan Grand Prix team, which in the 1980s was successful in the British Formula 3 or Formula 3000. On the wave of these successes, the founder of the team, and former racing driver Eddie Jordan decided to introduce his team to Formula 1. Thereby the 191 was the team's first car to compete in F1 races. The car's body is largely made of monocoque carbon fiber. Interestingly, the engine used in the Jordan 191 was the same that powered the Benetton cars in 1990. The car took part in a total of 16 races this season, but did not achieve a single victory, but achieved the fastest lap in one of them. In 1992 it was replaced by the Jordan 192 car.
