Tagovi | Dassault-Mirage-IV |
The Dassault Mirage IV is a French twin-engine supersonic bomber and a low-wing, delta-wing reconnaissance aircraft, with no horizontal tail. In 1956, France began building its own nuclear capacity. Therefore, special priority was given to the task of creating a carrier for such weapons. The Dessault Mirage IVA prototype was flown on June 17, 1959 with two SNECMA Atar 09 turbojet engines, each thrust 6,000 kg. The plane reached the speed of 1.9 Ma. Following positive test results, the French air force ordered 50 machines. The machine entered service in 1964 in the Mirage IVA version, as France's first strategic bomber after World War II. In 1985, some of them were upgraded to the Mirage IVP variant, capable of carrying an ASMP air-to-ground missile capable of carrying an atomic warhead. Technical data (Mirage IVA version): length: 23.49m, wingspan: 11.85m, height: 5.4m, maximum speed: 2.2Ma, rate of climb: 43m / s, maximum range: 4000km, maximum ceiling 20,000m, armament: fixed-none, underslung-1 AN-11 or AN21 atomic bomb or 16 conventional bombs weighing 454 kg each.
