The B-8 is the designation for the Soviet 80mm S-8 unguided missile launcher. The basic model of the B-8 launcher, designated B-8L, is capable of taking up to 20 rounds. In the course of production, however, less mass launchers were developed that would take a smaller number of missiles. It is worth noting that the 80mm S-8 unguided missile was developed for the needs of Soviet military aviation in the 1970s and entered service in 1984. Initially, it was assumed that it would be intended to destroy surface targets (such as fortified resistance points), however, over time, variants of the HEAT warhead and the so-called Tandem-HEAT (S-8T version) that allow you to engage armored targets. The S-8 missiles are still used in the military aviation of the Russian Federation, as well as in many other countries. The S-8 missiles and the B-8 container can be carried by many Soviet and Russian helicopters and airplanes.
