The Medium Mark II, derived from the Vickers Medium Mark I, was developed to replace the last of the Medium Mark Cs still in use. Production and rebuilding ran from 1925 until 1934. The tank was phased out of service from 1939, replaced by the Cruiser Mk I. It featured several improvements over the Vickers Mark I : a higher superstructure with the driver's vizor on top of it instead of in front of it; an improved suspension protected by armour skirts; and Rackham clutches, providing a primitive form of mechanical servo-control. Due to a slightly higher weight its rated speed was somewhat slower than that of the Medium Mark I, at 13 mph compared to 15 mph.

The Vickers Medium was a British medium tank from the interwar period. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in the early 1920s. The Vickers Medium tank was powered by a single A engine rmstrong Siddley with 90 HP . It was armed with a single 47mm QFSA 3-pounder cannon and three machine guns. Vickers cal. 7.7 mm.
The Vickers Medium tank was initially created as a private initiative of the Vickers armaments concern, but the British army quickly became interested in this undertaking, as they were looking for a successor to the failed Medium Mark D. The Vickers Medium vehicle was based on the experiences of the First World War. First of all, it had very thin armor, only 6-7 mm thick, and was primarily designed to work with infantry. At the same time, however, it had the main armament placed in a rotating turret and developed faster than the British heavy or medium tanks of the Mark I, Mark IV or Mark V type from the Great War period. During series production, two main development versions of the Vickers Medium were made. The first, labeled Vickers Medium Mk. And, it was also the first production series. The second version is the Vickers Medium Mk. II, which had slightly reinforced armor and in some instances, instead of Vickers machine guns, it had Hotchkiss rifles. The Vickers Medium vehicle was the basic and most numerous tank of the British Army in the period 1923-1938. During World War II, they were completely obsolete and were used primarily for training. They were used in a marginal way during the battles for Tobruk and Marsa Matruh in 1940-1942.
